thesis
posted on 2021-03-01, 03:12 authored by FEBY FARISKA SAVIRA
Cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) is a clinical syndrome encompassing the dysfunction of the heart, kidney and vasculature, with limited treatment options. Furthermore, cardiovascular and kidney disease, the key contributors toward CRS, negatively affect a patients’ quality of life and work productivity. Using epidemiological modelling and preclinical disease models, this thesis explored 1) the preventable health and productivity burden, 2) the economic benefit of emerging health technologies and 3) the validation of novel therapeutic targets in the context of CRS and/or the contributing diseases. The results have direct implications for the management policy, prevention and treatment of CRS and/or the underlying diseases.
