The whole thesis contains two themes namely contagion and investor sentiment. In the first theme of the research, the findings show that Islamic banks in specific countries, such as Saudi Arabia, are exposed to external economic shocks during the global financial crisis. In the second theme, Islamic banks are more sensitive to the variation of investor sentiment than their conventional counterparts.
