CFD-DEM Simulation of Particle Transport and Deposition in Human Airway

In this study, a CFD- DEM model is developed and applied to simulate the drug delivery process in human respiratory system. The transport process is visualised and the factors that influence the drug delivery efficiency are investigated. The outcomes of this work can be referred to as a guideline for the design of the pulmonary drug delivery systems.
