Building a new framework to improve University student mental health and help seeking though novel digital interventions

thesis
posted on 2025-07-10, 04:47 authored by Melinda Glenn McCabe
This thesis examines the help seeking intentions of University students, where help seeking intention is a predictor for later behaviour. With a focus on the intention to seek help using smartphone apps, this thesis also explores the critical development of the Monash Thrive app as a novel preventative mental health app co-designed with users. To highlight the importance of iterative evidence based testing and the inclusion of usability and functionality measures, this thesis explores both mental health and critically important usability key performance indicators across two iterative app trials, to ensure that this app is both efficacious and usable.
