Heart disease affects people with lower incomes more than others. This study looks at what changeable factors increase the risk of heart disease in low-income neighbourhoods. First, we collected data through surveys. Then, we held group discussions with people at high risk for heart disease to better understand what helps or stops them from making healthy lifestyle changes. Based on what we learned, we developed a plan to help people in low-income areas lower their risk of heart disease before it starts.
