This thesis investigated the assessment and management of musculoskeletal disorders impacting posture that are frequently experienced by adults ageing with severe cerebral palsy, a developmental disability. Through a series of studies exploring the measurement of postural asymmetry of the rib cage, pelvis and hips, a greater understanding regarding measurement of posture, change over time, and the relationship between pain and postural deformity in non-ambulant adults with CP was achieved. Lifespan measurement and monitoring of posture may aid in the evaluation of treatment efficacy and implementation, improving care for this vulnerable population.
