Applying and Improving Off-rate Screening by SPR in the Development of FABP4-selective Chemical Probes

thesis
posted on 2025-04-14, 22:05 authored by Tsz Fung Pun
Drug discovery is slow, expensive and challenging. The bottleneck in the early stages is often the purification of novel potential drug compounds. This work explored a more efficient system of chemical, biophysical and computational techniques that allow compounds to be tested without the need for purification. Application of this technology to a drug target gave compounds that could be further developed to treat diseases such as diabetes and atherosclerosis. This work also led to advances in the technology that can benefit its application to other drug targets and future drug discovery efforts.
