thesis

Apps are promising tools for delivery of mental health services to adolescents. Both adolescent client and psychologist perspectives of therapeutic app use were explored in this thesis to provide a foundation for future research. Opportunities for the development of a novel area of professional competence were proposed based on study findings, alongside preliminary practice guidelines for the complementary use of apps. The thesis advances understanding of means for youth-friendly mental health care by identifying avenues for further study, service improvement, and ways apps may be used to positively impact the state of youth mental health in Australia.
