thesis

The anthocyanins in nature differ in their structure and functional groups, which may lead to different pharmacological outcomes. The crude extract of C. ternatea flower has been shown to have various bioactivities. However, the potential of the anthocyanins as the compound responsible for the bioactivities is largely unexplored. This study investigated the effect of different extraction methods and conditions on the phytochemical content of the flowers. The potential of the anthocyanins for antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-biofilm activities was also demonstrated.
