This thesis presents the phased implementation of an immersive Virtual Reality Simulated Learning Environment (VR-SLE) following an evidence-based approach with iterative feedback provided by key stakeholders: educators, clinicians and undergraduate students. The findings of this research demonstrate the development of a body of evidence that has been collected and analysed to assess the efficacy of the VR-SLE in addressing the enhancement of a variety of core clinical competencies of medical radiation science trainee practitioners relative to existing alternative approaches.
