An Institutional Approach For Understanding The HRM-CSR Nexus In Pakistan

thesis
posted on 2020-12-14, 11:04 authored by Saba Nasir
This research study investigates the nature of the relationship between Human Resource Management (HRM) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Pakistani organisations. This research, utilising an exploratory qualitative research methodology, found evidence of both one-way and two-way relationships between HRM and CSR. HRM mainly works as an employee advocate, leader and functional expert in Pakistani organisations. The role of HRM was mostly administrative rather strategic in many CSR-related issues. The operational nature of the HRM-CSR nexus can be attributed to the dynamic influence of multiple institutional isomorphic forces, specific to Pakistan, that interact with each other to collectively shape the HRM-CSR nexus.
