There is developing interest in transdiagnostic interventions that focus on processes which are shared across mental health conditions rather than on a specific diagnosis to facilitate improved access to treatments. We sought to investigate the effectiveness of a transdiagnostic intervention, Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behavior Therapy (MiCBT), which is differentiated from similar interventions because of its underpinning theoretical co-emergence model which utilizes interoceptive awareness and equanimity processes. Results of the randomized controlled trial indicated that MiCBT was effective in symptom reduction with a heterogenous group. We also conducted a detailed comparison of MiCBT with another similar well-known mindfulness program, MBCT.
