Advances in Spray Deposited Nanocellulose Films

thesis
posted on 2022-03-15, 09:29 authored by HUMAYUN NADEEM
Petroleum-derived plastics are the top choice as packaging materials, however, most of the plastics are used for only a few days and then discarded, causing a serious environmental concern. Spray deposited nanocellulose films has emerged as potential alternative to conventional packaging; but long drying times, limited moisture barrier performance and high energy consumptions are the major challenges associated with their future use. The aim of this thesis is to highlight and overcome these issues with the utilization of spray deposited nanocellulose films and thus inching closer to substituting conventional plastic packaging.
