This thesis develops an adaptive dialog framework for a teachable conversational robot, allowing the robot to conduct personalised teaching interactions with individual users. It shows that adaptation improves task engagement and learning outcomes, and demonstrates the potential of such tailored, pedagogical technology to benefit tomorrow's students.
