Activity Studies and Identification of Chemical Constituents in Rhizomes from Zingiberaceae and Acoraceae Families

5 rhizomes commonly used in traditional medicine were subjected to antibacterial, antioxidant and antiproliferative assays to determine active compounds. Curcuma zedoaria was selected for further analysis against environmental biofilms. The active compound was determined to be carvacrol.
