thesis
posted on 2022-01-12, 22:56 authored by DAVID EGAN
This exegesis examines conceptual and emotional strategies employed by selected contemporary artists in their approaches to handling colour in painting. Each chapter of the exegesis focuses on the occurrence of colour in one painting, or one series of paintings, by the artists Jutta Koether, Rosie Isaac, Tony Conrad, Derek Jarman and Etel Adnan. The introduction situates the research in the field of subjective colour writing, as well as within the field of the 'science-fictional'.
