A Facile Method of Surface Modification using Octadecyltrichlorosilane for the Fabrication of Superhydrophobic Coating and Optimization to Improve Transparency
thesis
posted on 2023-05-24, 10:07 authored by KRISTIAN HENDRATAThe problem with the current methods to fabricate superhydrophobic coating is that it requires multiple laborious steps and special coating equipment. This research work attempts to develop a simple and practical method to fabricate superhydrophobic coating using one-step spray coating method, which is fast and simple to be applied. The spray coating parameters were optimized to produce superhydrophobic coating with better transparency compared to that of formed by dip coating. In summary, the findings of current study demonstrated the spray coating process is a facile and versatile approach for industrial fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces.
