thesis
posted on 2020-07-09, 10:01 authored by KIAN YEIK KOAY
This purpose of this study is to propose a holistic model based on social exchange theory and the theory of interpersonal behaviour to predict knowledge hiding. This study used a survey method to collect 207 usable data of knowledge workers in Malaysia. The results showed that the model is useful in explaining various dimensions of knowledge hiding (evasive hiding, playing dumb and rationalized hiding). Furthermore, organizational culture was found to be an important moderator that affects the strength the relationships between some exogenous and endogenous variables. This study ended with theoretical and managerial implications, research limitations and future research recommendations.
