The purpose of this research is to implement a mm-wave frequency domain chipless Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system, which includes tag, reader hardware, and detection algorithm at 60 GHz. It develops letter based chipless tags ink-printed on a plastic substrate, a modular cross-polarized reader, and three methods for tag detection and failure reduction: 1. Pattern recognition, like SVMs, KNN and Ensembles , 2. A novel image-based Side Looking Airborne Radar (SLAR) technique which provides an image of the tag, 3. Deep-learning method based on a 2-D visualization of the tag’s frequency response. Deep-learning method is implemented on the Google Colab cloud system.
