ADAP-CBR: An Ageing Demand-Aware Prefilling Compact Block Relay Protocol for Efficient Block Propagation in Bitcoin Blockchain Networks

thesis
posted on 2025-03-03, 01:33 authored by Zi Hau Chin
This research focuses on improving the efficiency of blockchain networks. Currently, blockchains struggle to scale due to inefficient communication between nodes. To address this, a new protocol called Demand-Aware Prefilling Compact Block Relay (DAP-CBR) is developed. DAP-CBR proactively includes relevant transactions in blocks based on node demand, reducing redundant data transmission and accelerating block propagation. Building on this, an Ageing Demand-Aware Prefilling Compact Block Relay (ADAP-CBR) is introduced, which further optimises performance by prioritising transaction types. These advancements contribute to more scalable and efficient blockchain systems, enabling broader adoption and real-world applications.
