Report: Patrick Owen at Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival 2015

<p>The Australia-Indonesia Centre welcomed Indonesian designers Patrick Owen and Peggy Hartanto to Melbourne for the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival 2015.</p> <p>Patrick and Peggy’s visit was made possible by a fashion partnership between Australia and Indonesia, launched on the runways of Jakarta Fashion Week in November 2014.</p> <p>As part of this partnership, Jakarta-based Patrick Owen received the inaugural AIC Young Indonesian Designer Award, which celebrates the rising stars of Indonesia’s fashion scene. The $10,000 award was presented by AIC Director Paul Ramadge and Chair of the Australian Global Fashion Alliance and Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival Laura Anderson.</p> <p>Surabaya-based Peggy Hartanto received a second award in recognition of her outstanding achievements.</p> <p>From 14-22 March 2015 both Patrick and Peggy took part in the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, where they met key figures in the global fashion industry. Patrick Owen also presented a runway show to launch the Australian debut of his label.</p>
