The report was commissioned by The Australian Human Rights Commission’s Disability Discrimination Commissioner as the first stage in a project that addresses how to increase the supply, accessibility and quality of housing for people with disability. This scoping report connects two discrete streams of practice on how to adapt homes for people with disability – one is disability focused and one is design focused. In so doing, it highlights opportunities for design informed approaches for more inclusive and quality housing and builds an holistic picture of housing access and modification.
