<b>UPDATE - IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: A RAPID REVIEW</b>

<p dir="ltr">Water Sensitive Cities Australia (WSCA) is an interdisciplinary organisation with a focus on creating a more sustainable and secure water future.</p><p dir="ltr">In late 2023, the MSDI Evidence Review Service (ERS) performed a review addressing the impact of climate change and climate-related disasters on people living with disability. The review was designed to build understanding of how climate change impacts different types of groups of disability based on the 6 domains of the SADD classification system: vision, hearing, mobility, cognition, self-care, language; different age groups; and sex (male/female/others). This review was impactful in aiding the Hanoi Association of Persons with Disabilities (DP Hanoi) to build their capacity to collect and use data to influence policies and initiatives that benefit people with disabilities.</p><p dir="ltr">With funding from DFAT and in partnership with Water Aid, WSCA is expanding this work beyond Vietnam in partnership with DP Hanoi, Lao Disabled People's Association (LDPA), and Cambodian Disabled People’s Organisation (CDPO), and with three universities: National University of Laos, National University of Vietnam, and Royal University of Phnom Penh.</p><p dir="ltr">WSCA therefore partnered with ERS to update the previous review and expand review parameters to focus on Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia and to explore expanded disability parameters, for example intersectionality.</p><p dir="ltr">The partner universities seek to build capacity in review science by participating in the review. They are well placed to identify and analyse grey literature in their setting and will undertake a grey literature search that complements the update review. Like the previous project, a parallel series of key informant interviews and follow-up fieldworks with people with disabilities will be undertaken by the WSCA team and their partners.</p><p dir="ltr"><b>The main research question of this review is: </b></p><p dir="ltr">"How does the impact of climate change vary among individuals with different types of disabilities in the context of disability inclusion in developing countries such as Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia?"</p>
