Special manufacturing practice, which involve controlled thermo-mechanical processing and heat treatments, was adapted to form this unique microstructure in the said alloy.
This new automotive alloy holds potential to replace heavy steel parts in a vehicle thereby reducing their weight. The weight reduction of a vehicle will improve its fuel efficiency and ultimately the CO2 emission level leading to clean air.
