Microbial electrosynthesis is an emerging technology that combines two different fields. It utilises electrochemistry with the vast potential of biological engineering, to address the problems faced by society's use of fossil fuels. In my project, I work to develop the application of E. coli in microbial electrosynthesis so that alternative fuels, such as butanol, can be more effectively produced.
