Presented at the IAGR Conference in Adelaide 2012.<div>Outlines the Ordovician to Silurian evolution of North Queensland and concludes that the tectonic setting is related to the development of continental ribbons formed during subduction roll-back and subsequently re-amalgamated to the eastern margin of Gondwana.</div><div><br></div><div>Compares the tectonic setting with Proterozoic Australia.</div>
