MYCardio-PEER: Empowering Hearts, Transforming Lives
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading cause of death globally, disproportionately affecting low-income communities with limited access to preventive healthcare. MYCardio-PEER is an innovative, digitally-assisted peer support lifestyle intervention aimed at mitigating CVD risk in these underserved populations. This engaging program combines digital materials and interactive activities facilitated by trained peer leaders to provide accessible, tailored lifestyle information and robust social support. By leveraging the power of digital health and community-based peer support, MYCardio-PEER empowers individuals in low-income communities to adopt healthier lifestyles, thereby reducing their CVD risk and enhancing overall well-being. This project explores the underutilised potential of digital health interventions in CVD prevention, addressing a critical gap in public health strategy.
