Endophytic fungi are capable of bioactive metabolite production. Using endophytic fungi as a source, I am extracting the fungal metabolites to screen for their potential antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant activities. Fungal metabolites with notable bioactivities can present an alternative to new lead compounds. With consideration, they can be developed into novel drugs that are sustainable, cost-effective with minimal toxicity to combat multi-drug resistant pathogens.
