Sea level rise is an urgent issue for coastal communities in Australia and across the world, with impacts on society, the economy and the environment.

Antarctica’s contribution to future sea level rise is uncertain, with regions of ocean-driven melting counteracted by snow accumulation increases in other regions.

This project untangles how different El Niño and La Niña events enhance snow accumulation in Antarctica, potentially offsetting some regional melt and reducing Antarctica’s contribution to future sea level rise.
