This research is a bold, innovative, visual exploration of compassion in mental healthcare.

Compassion is a humanistic and relational construct that is essential for the provision of quality mental healthcare. Yet how mental healthcare professions understand compassion and how we can embed compassion into mental healthcare systems is not clear.

This research utilises visual-art based approaches to explore participants visceral and embodied lived experiences of compassion.

The findings of this research will co-create a shared meaning for compassion in mental healthcare and a framework to embed compassion in mental healthcare systems.
