Her Honour considers the multiple measures adopted by Victorian courts, tribunals and related bodies to promote diversity such as: the establishment of specialised Koori divisions for sentencing Indigenous offenders, the implementation of Koori inclusion action plans and the inclusion of judicial training on cultural awareness. Her Honour explains the significance of the formation of the Judicial Council on Cultural Diversity. Her Honour also reviews some challenges associated with ensuring equitable and accessible justice in light of growing religious diversity, self-represented litigants, existence of mental health issues, inadequate government funding, technological advancements and judicial cultural awareness.
