Comparison of Return to Work Practices and Outcomes in Self-Insured and Scheme-Insured Organisations

This report compares the two types of employers in terms of the composition of claimants, duration of claim processing, provision of return to work plans, employer support, and time off work. The findings suggest self-insurers process claims more quickly, provide greater support for injured workers when making a claim, and return injured workers to work more quickly.
