The effective treatment of wastewater is crucial to conform to the stringent environmental regulations. Conventional wastewater treatment processes are challenged by the interdependence requirements between water and energy. Our novel and innovative process promotes water and energy self-sufficiency and is capable of recycling wastewater to meet the urban water demands. This depends on how we use bacteria that "charge up" to detoxify the organic wastes and recover metals from wastewater, while producing electricity along the way. Want to find out more about how we nurture our electric bacteria?
