Her Honour recalls the ‘heroes’ of the Victorian Bar and discusses their demonstrations of fearlessness and courage. Her Honour provides examples of instances where barristers have adopted courageous measures to protect the fundamental rights of accused persons and advance the administration of justice. Her Honour explains how barristers have a paramount duty to the court and must assist the court in advancing the administration of justice.
