A number of contexts may influence the way academic librarians perceive their educative role. These are numerous, and include personal, institutional, national and social/historical contexts. From among these themes, my research will focus on academic librarians' personal experiences of training for education, and/or their prior careers as educators. This poster visually represents the possible influences on librarians’ perceptions of their educative role, and situates my research focus within these broader themes. The poster shows a series of concentric circles representing the various contexts (personal, institutional, national and social/historical). The image of a keyhole, which represents the focus of my research, cuts across these contexts.
