This short presentation focused on the benefits of blogging and social media for law librarians.
Michelle looked at how Monash approaches the use of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as the Monash Library blog.
She also discussed her work as a volunteer content officer for the International Librarians Network, where she writes discussion topics to structure the peer mentoring program.
Michelle further looked at writing a personal library blog and the benefits of reflective practice.
Overall, the main benefits were shown to be around sharing
knowledge, connecting, learning and reflecting. The main barriers were simply time and opportunity, which are easy enough to overcome.
Michelle finished the presentation with some simple tips for those who want to
begin using social media and blogs.
