This International Evidence-based Guideline for the assessment and management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) 2023, is designed to provide clear information to assist clinical decision making, support optimal patient care and improve health outcomes. It is the culmination of the work of over 1000 healthcare professionals, early careers researchers and academics experts, multidisciplinary clinicians and patients/consumers internationally, bringing together the best available evidence with international, multidisciplinary clinical expertise and consumer preferences to provide healthcare professionals, consumers, educators, funders and policy makers with guidance. The guideline and translation programs promote accurate and timely diagnosis and best practice, evidence-based, consistent assessment and treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Education, empowerment and shared decision making is key, with a focus on prevention of complications and improved patient experience and health outcomes for the one in ten women worldwide with PCOS.
