'Born 1923 Glenmask, Co Mayo. Plays old style melodeon. Active local and domestic player in Ireland before emigration to England in 1945. Gives detailed and reflective account of life growing up and musical culture. Close observation of social patterns of house dances and playing. Participated in strong Irish dance hall and club culture in England in 1940s. Reflections on the decline of her village observed on return visit in mid 1970s. Playing several tunes in interview tape 7 June 1983.'
