<p dir="ltr"><u>Tape 1 – Kroncong in Jakarta (1)</u></p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">Sides A and B consist of four tapes of Kroncong Tugu, as performed by Pusaka Moresko Tugu, recorded by Mr. Ernst Heins on 15 Oct 1973. These are tapes DKJ 011, 012, 013 and 014 (Kroncong Tugu I, II, III and IV respectively). DKJ 011 and 012 on Side A, DKJ 013 and 014 on Side B.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">DKJ = Dewan Kesenian Jakarta.</p><p dir="ltr">PKJ = Pusat Kesenian Jakarta (sponsor).</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">Recorded at Kampong Tugu, Cilinang, Tanjung Priok.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">Kornhauser’s copies made on Tuesday 27 November 1973 (at T.I.M. [Taman Ismail Marzuki]?).</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">Approximately 12 songs to a tape. First song on DKJ 012 is in Portuguese, whilst the rest is mostly in Dutch.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">Side A consists of a long, spoken introduction, including the types of Kroncong (Tugu, Oud Batavia, etc.), the language used for some songs (Bahasa Kristang) and information on the individual players (age range 20s-70s, etc.).</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">Lots of loud barking dogs sometimes disrupts the recording.
