Urban infill: extent and implications in the City of Monash

The Melbourne 2030 planning scheme seeks to promote housing development in and around activity centres. However, there has been no progress in achieving this aspiration. This study shows that, for the City of Monash, infill constituted almost all the new housing development between 2000 and 2006. The infill was mapped and shown to be dispersed throughout the city. Very little occurred in the vicinity of activity centres or railway stations. Copyright. Monash University and the author/s
