The metaphor and method of triangulation are discussed in terms of both positivist measurement of distance and reflexive post-positivist/postmodemist stance. Post-positivist possibilities for triangulation include following nomothetic lines, taking an ideographic overview, and finding an angle. Impossibilities and implications for "data capture, "perspective, and "enclosure" are raised.
