In Australia family forms have changed dramatically over the last 30 years. One of these changes is the increase in the number of people who have children in more than one relationship, a concept known as multipartner fertility. This article assesses what is known about multipartnered fertility in Australia, and highlights the difficulties in measuring this phenomenon.
