This article discusses Camisha Russell's book, The Reproduction of Race (2018; Indiana UP). In it, I make three points, summarised as: why we should stop talking about assisted reproductive technologies; why we should talk more about genetic relatedness; and why feminist theorists and critical philosophers should stop rejecting bioethics. The paper was initially developed as an invited presentation at the Society for Existential and Phenomenological Philosophy Conference (SPEP; Pittsburgh, 2019).
