The past two decades in China have witnessed continuous reforms in ownership structure in the Chinese industrial sector. This paper seeks to address the four questions related to ownership reform. These questions include the reasons that ownership structure has become the target for reforms; changes that have occurred in the ownership structure since the reform; the impact of such changes on human resource practices; and the implications for international business.
