The worldwide rise in ethno-nationalist tensions have echoed within ethnic communities in Australia. For a multicultural society, a recognition of this fact need not bring with it responses which intensify the dangers of conflict in Australia. Ethnic political leaders in Australia will learn to tread the fine line between legitimate participation in diasporic politics and domestic nation building. Copyright.
