Building the National Broadband Network
journal contribution
posted on 2017-05-01, 05:16 authored by Darling, PeterThe current Australian Government policy calls for every house, school and business in Australia to get access to 'affordable fast broadband' over an eight-year period in a National Broadband Network. There has been much discussion about the viability of this policy and the associated NBN Co, but much less about the technical implementation of this policy. The article looks at the techniques likely to be used to provide fast broadband to individual dwellings, techniques which will have to provide access to over 4000 dwellings each day to realise the Australian Governments policy.
