Recent national research commissioned by the Australian Automobile Association shows that Australian motorists are very attached to their cars but that they are concerned about some aspects of car use.. Respondents place a high priority on public transport and worry about the safety of motoring and about its environmental effects. They would also prefer to protect the Australian car industry rather than gain access to cheaper imported cars. Copyright. Monash University and the author/s
