Taken in Kathmandu between May 1969 and April 1970, these photographs represent typical street scenes seen daily in Kathmandu. The bazaar - street interface allows one to see all manner of shops and goods for sale, Shaivite yogis (of sinister reputation, probably undeserved) begging, magnificent 17th cent. windows in abandoned houses, wind-propelled prayer wheels, butchers at work, the Royal Palace being cleaned for the Crown Prince's wedding and street potters, all making for a vibrant and thriving city.
