Numeracy and the visual arts: Time travelling with patterns
This resource explores how numeracy can be explored through the visual arts (years 7-8) with pattern as the focus. Throughout the resource Geraldine Burke and Nish Belford encourage students to become time travellers as they find and
explore patterns across time, place and context. The focus is on developing numeracy and
visual art skills as students become makers of, and responders to, patterns from
different countries, eras, and social contexts. The sequence is part of a 'Numeracy in the Curriculum initiative by Department of Education and training, Victoria. https://www.education.vic.gov.au/school/teachers/teachingresources/discipline/maths/Pages/numeracy-for-all-learners.aspx
