<p dir="ltr">This dataset consists of responses to an online survey which elicited information about Australian slang. Respondents were asked to provide slang expressions equivalent to a variety of prompts (e.g. ‘Something very bad’) along with additional information such as who they might expect to use the expression given. Respondents also provided basic demographic details. The dataset includes responses were received from 2984 people. The data was collected as part of the project 'Metaphors and Identities in the Australian Vernacular' supported by the Australian Research Council (SR200200350).</p>
